Day 2 - Editing

Day 2 - Editing
Today i have decided to start editing and creating the intro to the music video. This part is purly the narrative and will set the story for the entire music video. I will use dark defocus clips to resemble drunkenness, memory, depression and regret.
RGB Balance. This is one of the main colour correction effects I have used for all the intro clips. It allowed me to increase the deep dark blues in the image to reflect a dark and depressing mind set.

I also used the 'Brightness and Contrast' tool through out the entire music video. I decreased the brightness and increased contrast to bring the actors out of the background.
I also used image control to increase the highlights mid-tones and then decrease the blacks to again bring out only the important features of the clip.
COlor Balance was used on the clips with Charlie looking at the ring. This allowed me to increase the Blue even more.

I used two transitions through out the entire music video. Additive Dissolve was used when clips were layered on top of each other as it has a diffuse effect when it transitions. Cross dissolved was used when two clips were next to each other.

I started to realise that adding effects first would mean that every time I moved the clip I would have to render it over and over again. So i changed the render mode to Unlimited RT.

I used the colour corrector wheel to give a Blue hue to the clips and the increased mid-tones and decreased blacks.

I used the opacity settings in 'Motion' to layer clips on top of each other to make the video flow as it has to reflect the tempo of the music video.

I used the Bad Film effect when the music gets louder at the beginning to show that it is a memory and that someone is reflecting on what happened.
